Ferrari's Felipe Massa is the only driver so far to dip into the 1 minute 11 second bracket so far in testing at Valencia's Ricardo Tormo circuit with a time of 1'11.722 which he set fairly early in the day. This is still some way from Heikki Kovalainen's 2008 testing time of 1'11.000 but so far the Ferrari seems to be quick and consistant. Also proving to be consistantly quick is the unsponsored Sauber with Kamui Kobayashi backing up yesterdays fine effort by de la Rosa to set the second quickest time today just three tenths slower than the Brazilian's best.

"It was definitely a good day," said Kobayashi. "We had no problems with the car and covered a lot of mileage. The car felt good. I enjoyed driving a lot and also working with the team." Third fastest today was Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren, another two tenths back, who professed satisfaction with the pace and feel of the new McLaren. "It was a night and day difference and feeling compared to the first lap and the first test day in 2009," Hamilton told reporters at the end of the day. I got in today and it felt good. I got out smiling and all the problems I had generally with the last car I didn't have with this one. There are still of areas we can improve on." Despite his upbeat comments yesterday it was an undoubtedly releived Robert Kubica in the Renault who was forth best today, a whopping 2.6 seconds faster than his best time yesterday and again just two tenths off Hamilton's time. Nico Rosberg completed his testing for the week with the fastest time so far in the Mercedes of 1'12.899 just fractionally ahead of Schumachers time from day 1 While Barrichello in the Williams and Buemi in the Toro Rosso rounded out the runners both in the 1 minute thirteen bracket on long runs. The final day of testing tomorrow should be interesting with both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso getting their first runs with their new teams and Schumacher having his second outing in the Mercedes.
